\"\"id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5561673753897413170\"<\/a>I’ve done <\/a>this <\/a>before<\/a>, so here’s my list of favorite films of 2010. I could not force myself to make an actual top 10, so below you will find them listed alphabetically.
A few films nevertheless stuck out this year, primarily A Single Man<\/span> and Un Proph\u00e8te<\/span>. I put Herzog\u2019s mesmerizingly awkward My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done<\/span> in there as well, a far better film than his ho-hum Bad Lieutenant<\/span> \u201cre-imagining\u201d. Other films that did not receive theatrical releases but really should have are Refn\u2019s raw Viking-film Valhalla Rising<\/span> and Matsumoto\u2019s wonderfully insane Shinboru<\/span>. From the runners-up, The American<\/span>, How to Train Your Dragon <\/span>, Winnebago Man<\/span> and Winter’s Bone<\/span> came closest to the top ten.<\/p>\n
